One For All and All For One

I am soooo happy to be here because I have super fabulous experiences, teachers, and friends! There is nothing more than we have. I have no regrets about this Extension program. Now all of our presentations were finished. It was the biggest event for us, and it would be absolutely the brightest time of our life.

Before the presentation, I worked very hard for researching, writing essay and practicing the presentation with PowerPoint. These things had never easy for me. When I began to research, I was disappointed at my knowledge of onsen, so I spent lots of time to research for onsen deeply. Writing essay was also hard for me because I have never done like that. My topic was difficult to express in writing, so the question like ‘How can I write?’ crossed often my mind. Sometimes I couldn’t have enough sleeping time because of that. However, now it became a good memory for me. As you know, the hardest part was the presentation. I have never spoken in front of many people even in front of Japanese people, so I was the first time for me.

All my dorm members presented on the first day, so the day before the presentation, we encouraged each other and went to bed early. On the day of the presentation, actually I wasn’t nervous so much. It was unusual for me. However, most of the Extension students looked nervous because we were the first day’s presenters. At dinner time at Commons, lots of my friends hugged me and said to me ‘Good luck! You can do it!’ I was really glad to hear that, and I felt like crying. On that day I was so surprised because there were more than 160 people to see our presentations. That’s amazing! I didn’t expect that number. I got nervous the moment my turn was come, however, I wasn’t nervous during I presented because I received a super warm welcome. The face of the audience was warm and tender. I realized that the audience was with me. In addition to them, how sweet Extension students’ faces are! Smile of them made me relax a lot. I was very relieved and helped by them.

After finished the presentation, tears of joy that I accomplished finally ran down my face. I couldn’t stop crying. Lots of people came to me and said ‘Good job! That was wonderful!’ I was so happy to hear that. Some of my friends ran up to me while crying. I can’t believe that I’ve done even now. Thorough the presentation, I learned a lot. For example, whether my presentation success or not is depend on my effort or practice. After I came here, I have loved this word ‘I can do it!’ as well. Also I learned some important things such as how powerful our friendship is. Also, the teachers were absolutely fantastic! I have never seen the fabulous teachers like them! I’m very proud of my teachers and my friends. I want to stay more together ever if I can. Thank you so much for giving such a wonderful experience.
