Southwest Trip

We went to New Mexico and Arizona for one week. It was a wonderful trip. I could learn many things such as Native American history and culture.

There are many Catholic churches in New Mexico, because a long time ago, Spanish settlement went to New Mexico and they built it. They used long road to go to Santa Fe from Mexico. People called that "El Camino Real." The main thoroughfare between Mexico City and Santa Fe. It's sixteen hundred miles. Santa Fe is the end of that road. That's why Santa Fe is a very historical place.

We also went to "Acoma pueblo" village. Pueblo is name of Native Americans group who live in Southwest. Today, there are 19 pueblos in Southwest. Acoma is one of Pueblo. They live on the mesa because a long time ago, they had to protect themselves by enemies. Landscape was so beautiful. I could see far away. It was too beautiful to explain. They have a church in their village. Many Native American in Southwest believe in Christianity because Spanish settlement
brought it. Some people believe in own religion. I wonder why many people still believe in Christianity. They have own religion don't they?

The Grand Canyon was amazing. I can't explain it any more. I were struck with by the grandeur of it. I enjoyed the wonderful natural view of the ravine. I also watched stars with my friends in the night. We lay on the ground. At that time, outside was freezing but many stars were twinkling in the clear sky. It was so beautiful. I had never seen that sky, it was a star spangled sky. We tried to find shooting stars for about an hour but we could see only one shooting star. Anyway I really enjoyed this trip. I had a great memory.
