Wonderful Southwest Trip

I went to the Southwest Trip from October, 15 to October 21. Even though this trip was so long, but it was a very wonderful experience and unforgettable.

On day 1, I woke up at 5:00 a.m., so I was sleepy. We changed airplane in Phoenix, and we went to Albuquerque. We visited Pueblo Cultural Center, and we had dinner on our own. We had a lot of Mexican foods because we shared these foods each other. It was delicious, and I like Taco very much. After that, we went to motel in Santa Fe. It was a interesting day.

On day 2 was also interesting. First, we went on a walking tour of downtown of Santa Fe. I saw the Mission of San Miguel, Loretto Chapel, St. Francis Cathedral, and Palace of the Governors. I could see a lot of adobe buildings during this tour. Santa Fe was so different from Spokane. I couldn't believe Santa Fe is America. Santa Fe is like another country. After that, we went to Taos Pueblo. I was so surprised because native Americans don't like to have the picture taken. One of students took a picture of jewelry when one Native American woman was selling some jewelry. She told "Pay 10 dollars." I can't understand why we can't take a picture, but it is part of their culture.

On day 4, visiting Acoma School was also interesting. First, we ate lunch with children. After that, two of us went to each class. Our pen pal was one class. I was so surprised because I thought my pen pal is one student. We taught them about Japan, and we made Origami with them. They like the Origami very much. I was so surprised because some of them knew how to make Origami, and everyone is good at making Origami. Last semester, I often went to meet my pen pals in Spokane. I also taught them how to make Origami, but they couldn't make Origami well, so they don't like Origami so much. Acoma School students also studied their own language. they have clan such as bear, sun, eagle...etc. It was so interesting for me. I also went to sky city, some of them lived there. Sky city has beautiful view.

Finally, we went to Grand Canyon. It was so wonderful!! I saw sunset view of the canyon. The view was beautiful. I also saw sunrise view of the canyon, so I woke up at 5:00a.m., and outside is cold. There were a lot of kind of people such as Japanese, Spanish, French, and German...etc there in the early morning. On the next day, we had a free day at the Grand Canyon. There were a lot of cliffs, so it was amazing!

I had a wonderful time in southwest.
