I felt that 4 days were not enough to see Portland!! The Portland Trip was the last trip for us, so I wanted to have a good time with extension students. I think it was a wonderful trip because I could see many things that I'd never seen, and I had great time with my friends. The first day, we went to Central Washington University to meet students who are studying Japanese. I was surprised to see their textbook, because it was difficult for me! I don't think about Japanese grammer when I speak Japanese, so I thought it's a hard thing to study other language afresh. We also went to a museum and I could see lots of interesting exhibits. The pizza at the Flying Pie Pizza were so good!!! I'd love to eat them again.
We went to see Japanese-American Memorial on the 3rd day. I felt strong feeings by seeing the monuments because it told how the Japanese-American felt. I thought that their anger, sadness and pain are remaining there. I thought about the relation between Japan and China too because there are China town near the memorial. There was once Japan town, and I couldn't believe that because there were no sign that there was Japan town. I thought many things about Japan and I thought I have to think about it.
The most interesting event was NBA!!!!! I had never watched a basketball game in a stadium, so I was enough excited. We cheered Portland Trail Blazers. I found lots of excited fans and I enjoyed cheering with them. I found an interesting family. A boy cheered Dallas, but his father cheered Portland, and they almost fought sometimes. It was fun to see it. We found good players and gave nicknames to them because it's easy to remember their faces. I enjoyed the game very much and Portland won!!! I was happy. I changed to be a fan of basketball. It was a great night for me.
On the last day, we took a hike to the top of a fall. I was pleased because all students went there! The hiking was a little hard, but we did it! We could see a curious scenery of the fall because from the top of it, I didn't feel the height. The coffee after the hiking was very nice. I loved the place because I felt like in Japan. I think there are many things that make me feel Japan in Portland. It's interesting!
I could see lots of interesting things on this trip, and I will never forget this experience. I was a little sad when the bus arrived at MFWI because I didn't want to finish this trip. I think I will go there again on my own because I want to see and know about Portland more!!!
