Filled with Deep Emotion

The best place in the Southwest is, of course, the Grand Canyon!!!! We went to the Southwest from October 15th to 21st. Everything was new, so I really had a great time with my friends, teachers, tour guide, and bus driver. The Grand Canyon was so beautiful and relaxing. Most of the students love the Grand Canyon the best, I think. It was our first time to go there so I enjoyed seeing it and taking pictures there. I started to cry when I saw the Grand Canyon for the first time. I could feel how great history is and how lovely nature is. When I saw those views I forgot my problems and I felt the power of nature, but I don’t know what it is. At night at the Grand Canyon, my friends and I went outside and tried to find shooting stars while we ate some snacks. The night sky at the Grand Canyon is different from the night sky in my hometown. However, both of them are beautiful to me and I could not compare the night sky in my hometown and the night sky at the Grand Canyon. I saw more than three shooting stars but I didn’t have time to make a wish because it was so beautiful. After that I went to my friends' room and we talked for a while. It was a valuable time and I noticed that I am happy to have come here.
Anyway, there is one other thing that is my favorite; that is "CACTUS"! I really like it as much as the Grand Canyon. A cactus is so incredible and looks human, so that is one reason why I like it so much. On the last day of the trip, I was excited because we saw many cactuses. I think that temperature was hot there, so I wonder how they can live there. The more cactuses I see, the more incredible they are I think. There are more than 1000 kinds of cactus in the world, so now I’m interested in cactuses.
Also I went to the Rio Grand Bridge which is the 2nd highest in America. I could see the bottom of the gorge but it was difficult to know how high it was. So my friends, Kyoko, and I tried to figure it out. We picked up a stone and I threw it down, but as the stone fell it became smaller and smaller and finally we could not see it. (Wow!) We thought that an orange would be better to throw because it's bigger.
This Southwest trip was much better than I expected because there was a lot of time to talk with my friends in our room, under the beautiful night sky, near the pueblo village, and near the nature. That is one of my best memories from this trip.
We really enjoyed this trip and have a great time with our friends, so we must thank our teacher, tour guide and bus driver for planning this trip!!!
