I went to Gonzaga University with my classmates in conversation class . Gonzaga is a private school. This university has an ESL program. We visited an ESL class.
When we arrived at Gonzaga, Barbara, our teacher, said ‘You have to find the class room by yourself. There is the classroom in Administration building. Good luck. ’ She didn’t lead us the classroom. At that time we were little puzzled but one of my classmate asked a man 'where is Administration building?' We could find the building easily because it was in front of us.
There were eight ESL students in the classroom. Some students were Japanese. We joined the class. We made several groups. Each group had three or four people. We did group work. The teacher gave us a picture and we made a story about it. It was a practice to make past time sentences. This group work reminds me of Jill’s writing class. I did - same thing in MWU. To make a story was little difficult for ESL students, but they enjoyed it.
The ESL class was similar to MFWI classes. classes was not big. I think how to teach English was very similar. To join the ESL class was interesting. If I can visit an ESL class again, I want to join a high level ESL class. I’m really interested in that class.
