MWU and MFWI

Classes at MFWI are absolutely different from these of MWU.

First, almost all teachers at MWU are Japanese. On the other hand, at MFWI all teachers are Americans, and they are professionals to teach English to people who study English, which means us. They have a lot of interesting experiences. For example, some teachers have been to a lot of countries, and they told us about them. They are also professionals to make us active and help us have fun. They are very energetic and powerful, so they never make us sleepy.

Second, classes are totally different. In the English major at MWU we usually stay in classrooms, listen to what teachers say, take notes and finish. However, at MFWI we sometimes go to visit a lot of places such as American high schools, universities and even hotels. There we observe how different these places are from Japanese ones. We also have pen pals who are usually elementary, junior high or high school students. Once a week or two weeks, we write them, and they will reply to us. Sometimes we invite them to MFWI, and eat lunch, teach Japanese culture to them and play with them. It is very exciting, and it must be one of my most favorite experiences. We played volley ball, robbers and cops and American games that they taught, which I couldn’t experience in Japan in our age. I felt as if I had had been an American student.

Finally, students are different. At MFWI, almost all students are willing to work hard to improve their English skills. We also make a concerted effort. We never touch our cell phones or cut the class for our joy such as meeting boyfriends and sleeping well at home!!! Our classmates will be our big friends, sweet family and great rivals.

In conclusion, MFWI is very different from MWU in good ways. You will sometimes feel sad because you will be away from your parents, friends or boyfriends. However, I’m sure that there are a lot of things that you can experience only at MFWI. Say"Wow!!!"

I am one of the Extension students of 2008. Your life at MFWI was exciting to me. I want to talk about that life with you someday...
